Junior Development

The Junior Development Program exists to guide players through the process of developing the foundation that will build competitive athletes. Through a fun and team based environment we provide players the pathway to build confidence and meet their tennis goals.

Introduction:

Welcome to our Junior Development Program, where your child’s tennis journey begins! Led by the experienced and dedicated Director, Katie Finke, our program is designed to provide a top-notch tennis experience for players of all levels. The program offers a flexible schedule with plenty of options to choose from, operating every week when schools are out of session, and only closing for major holidays.

Registration: If your child has little to no experience, register by age:

  • Ages 4–6: Red Ball 1
  • Ages 6–8: Red Ball 2
  • Ages 8–9: Orange Ball
  • Ages 10–11: Green Dot

Evaluation for Experienced Players: Players with experience can set up a FREE 30-minute evaluation with Katie to determine the appropriate level.

How to Register for Program Classes Online (Desktop)

Red Ball Levels:

Red Ball 1: For ages 4–6, introducing tennis fundamentals with foam and low compression red balls.

Red Ball 2: Ages 6–7, focusing on stroke techniques in a fun-filled environment with games and scoring.

Advanced Red Ball: Ages 6–8, building on techniques learned in Red Ball 1 & 2.

Red Ball Academy: Invitation-only or approval from program Director, initiates young players into the High-Performance pathway.

Orange Ball Levels:

Orange Ball: For beginners (ages 8–9) transitioning from Red Ball classes. Focus on stroke mechanics and preparation for matches.

Advanced Orange Ball 1 & 2: For advanced players (ages 8–9), enhancing stroke mechanics, rallying ability, and match play experience.

Academy Orange Ball: Invitation-only or approval from program Director, initiates young players into the High-Performance pathway.

Green Ball Levels:

Green Dot: For ages 10–11 (based on ability) with a focus on footwork, rallying, serving, and match strategy. Regular tournament participation expected.

Advanced Green Dot 1 & 2: Ages 10–11 (based on ability). Transition based on skills, including registration in a Ball Control class, private lessons, and regular tournament play.

Academy Green Dot: Invitation-only or approval from the program director is a must for transitioning to the High-Performance program. Commitment to weekly practices is expected.

In-House League:

Dive into the thrilling world of our in-house junior development league! Exclusive to our advanced and academy orange ball and green dot players, this lively event features spirited teams like The Wolf Volleys, The Bobcat Aces, The Bear Dropshots, and The Bulldog Forehands. As young players engage in exciting matchups, individual points contribute to an epic total. The crowning ceremony culminates in a lively celebration with well-deserved prizes. It’s not just about competition; parents learn to be supportive sidelines, fostering a community of encouragement. With our expansive Junior Development program, there’s always fresh competition, ensuring our young players experience a variety of matches. Stay tuned for weekly updates on dates and results, and let the excitement unfold as our junior stars shine on the court!

Rules for Team Cup In-House League:

  1. Timed Matches: All matches will be timed, and players are responsible for keeping track of their scores within the allotted time.
  2. Prompt Start: Matches will commence promptly at the designated time, requiring players to be ready and on the courts when assigned.
  3. Essentials: Players must bring their racquet, water bottle, wear apparel with pockets, and wear appropriate shoes to participate in the matches.
  4. Scoring: Every game scored by each player contributes to both their individual and team score.
  5. Weekly Updates: Scores will be regularly updated and shared on social media platforms, allowing participants and parents to stay informed about the league progress.
  6. Substitutions Allowed: Substitutions are permitted in the event a player is unable to attend a match, ensuring flexibility within the teams.

Policies for Team Cup In-House League:

  1. Absence Notification: Parents are required to notify the organizers at least 48 hours in advance if their child cannot attend a scheduled match, ensuring proper adjustments and maintaining fairness within the league structure.
  2. Registration Requirement: To be considered for matchplay, players must complete the registration process.
  3. Participation Commitment: Once registered, players are expected to participate, and no refunds or makeups will be offered in the event of absence. This policy ensures a commitment to the league and fair play for all participants.
