Summer Camp FAQ
How do Credits work for summer camps?
For Junior Development and Junior Competition players, credits are sold in packages of 20, 40, and 60, with each credit equivalent to one hour of playtime during our summer camps. However, High Performance players have the option to purchase Coupons, with each coupon equivalent to 3 hours of camp time. Since High Performance players attend camp for 3 hours per day, they use one coupon per camp day. So, while Junior Development and Junior Competition players use one credit per hour of play, High Performance players use one coupon per day, reflecting their 3-hour camp session.
What does it mean flexible schedule?
Flexibility in scheduling means that once players have purchased their credits, they have complete control over when they want to use them. Whether they prefer to attend camp sessions consecutively or spread them out over the summer, the choice is theirs. This allows players to tailor their camp experience to fit their individual schedules and commitments, making it convenient and adaptable to their needs. It’s important to note that players and parents are responsible for keeping track of how many credits they’ve used to ensure they make the most of their summer camp experience.
At what time does camp start?
For Junior Development (Advanced and Academy Orange Ball, and Green Dot levels): Camp runs from Monday to Friday, starting at 9 am and ending at 12 pm. Players have the option to arrive at either 9 am or 10 am, staying a minimum of 2 hours.
For Junior Development (Orange, and Green Dot levels): Camp runs Monday to Thursday, starting at 2 pm and ending at 4 pm. Players can arrive at either 2 pm or 3 pm, with a minimum stay of 1 hour.
For Junior Development (Red Ball Advanced, Red Ball Academy): Camp runs Monday and Thursday, starting at 2 pm and ending at 4 pm. Players are required to do 2 hours.
For Junior Competition (Satellite, Satellite Plus, Super Excellence, and Super Excellence Plus): Camp runs from Monday to Friday, starting at 9 am and ending at 12 pm. Players can choose to arrive at either 9 am or 10 am, with a minimum stay of two hours.
For High Performance players: Camp runs Monday to Friday, starting at 9 am and ending at 12 pm. Players are expected to participate for 3 hours per day. If a player decides to participate for less time, the full coupon will still be deducted from their package.
What are the locations?
- High Performance Camp: Plainfield North High School
- Junior Competition Camp: Plainfield East High School
- Junior Development Camps: Five Star Tennis Center (FSTC)
Can siblings split credits?
Yes, siblings can split credits. However, if one sibling is in Junior Competition and the other is in Junior Development, they must purchase credits at the Junior Competition rate. It’s important to note that unlimited packages cannot be split between siblings.
Are there camps for Red Ball and Futures?
No, camps are only available for the levels stated previously: Junior Development (Advanced and Academy Orange Ball, and Green Dot levels), Junior Competition (Satellite, Satellite Plus, Super Excellence, and Super Excellence Plus), and High Performance.
What if I do not use my credits by the end of the summer session?
Credits are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to other programming. It’s important to plan your camp attendance accordingly to make the most of your credits.
What if I go over my credits?
Players who exceed their credits will be required to provide a card on file and will be billed at the end of the summer for the additional credits used. It’s important to note that players do not need to purchase a full package again after the initial credit purchase. Please be aware that the front desk will be unable to charge for additional credits during camp. All players will be billed for any additional credits used once summer camp has ended.
Special Note: It is the responsibility of both players and parents to track their credits throughout the summer camp to avoid any unexpected charges at the end of the session. While the club closely monitors attendance, ultimately, the primary member of the account is responsible for any additional charges incurred. Please ensure to manage your credits diligently to make the most of your summer camp experience!
What if it rains?
In the event of rain, all players registered for summer camps MUST download the FSTC app and allow notifications. A push notification will be sent out to all players to inform them of any changes to camp times. Players will be accommodated indoors at FSTC as smoothly as possible. However, it’s important to note that parents are responsible for bringing the players or providing them with transportation in case of rain. Neither FSTC nor the coaches will provide transportation from the outdoor courts to the club. Please ensure to stay updated through the FSTC app for any changes due to weather conditions.
What should a player bring to summer camp?
Players are expected to bring the following items to summer camp:
- Tennis racquet
- Sunscreen
- Hat
- Tennis or sportswear
- Water bottle
For outdoor camps, it’s highly recommended to bring water bottles and a light non-dairy snack. Please note that outdoor courts may not have full access to water fountains. Be prepared to stay hydrated and comfortable throughout your camp sessions!
